Mother and Daughter“My mother is a Guatemalan immigrant who left her  country because of the violence ensued by the civil war.   She married my stepfather who was born in Mexico.   After dating for 7 years, they got married and the process  for my stepfather to get his citizenship was finally possible  (my mother was a naturalized citizen by then).  After a  long and arduous process with lawyers, he was deported  to Mexico to await his approval for citizenship...”
